Multinational IT consulting and software development company Endava has acquired Melbourne-based consulting, design and engineering firm Lexicon Digital.

UK-headquartered Endava said the acquisition accelerates its plans for growth in Australia, adding Lexicon’s 127 employees in offices in Melbourne and Sydney to bolster its existing presence. Endava launched in Australia in 2021.

Founded in 2016, Lexicon creates digital solutions and accelerates digital transformation programs for customers across enterprise systems and products. The company also has an office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, providing Endava with a nearby delivery site in Vietnam, complementing Endava’s existing operations in Singapore and Malaysia.

“One of our key criteria for a merger partner was strong alignment on capability, strategy and culture. With Endava, we found that,” said Chris Carydias, Founder and CEO of Lexicon.

Lexicon customers include ANZ Bank, Coles, Kmart, MYOB, Toyota, Lexus, youfoodz and shippit. He also has clients in the insurance and wealth management industries, as well as the entertainment, retail, food and beverage and automotive industries.

In the year ending June 30, 2022, 94% of Lexicon’s revenue came from Australian customers and 6% from the United States, with nearly 90% of revenue from large enterprises.

Endava CEO John Cotterell said, “We view Lexicon as a high-performing company providing high-quality services in an attractive market with great customers, bringing a strong base of talent in the areas of delivery, support and leadership. We are excited about our cultural alignment and therefore what we can accomplish together.

Endava’s global clients include Santander, BBC, boohoo, Fortnum & Mason.
