Salina Downtown, Inc., has a new Executive Director.
The Salina Downtown Inc. BID Advisory Board announced late this afternoon that Leslie Bishop is the new Executive Director. Most recently, she held the position of Interim Executive Director.
According to a press release from the organization, Bishop brings hospitality, hospitality, marketing and management experience to his new role. She is a person who believes that positive relationships foster new ideas and create an environment that makes people want to see themselves succeed. Bishop considers the strong working relationships between community leaders to be beneficial not only to those in downtown Salina, but also to all who live in Salina.
“I am delighted to be part of the growth of downtown Salina. We have an energy and I’m really excited to be a part of it, ”Bishop said. “I look forward to learning more about everything, Salina Downtown, building new relationships and working with community leaders to build strong partnerships that help our organizations grow. “
“As we researched our new Executive Director, it became apparent that we had received a gift desk,” said Cassie Streit, Chairman of the Board. “Leslie has taken a giant step forward, taking on more responsibility than the board had anticipated, and she did it with a smile and grace. It made sense to allow her to continue her hard work and give her the chance to flourish as a CEO. “
Salina Downtown, Inc., was formed as a nonprofit merchant association in 1975 and was one of Kansas’ first business improvement districts, starting in 1983. SDI is governed by a board of 13 members.
