The Outer Banks hotline announced that current board member Bronwyn K. Thornton has been appointed executive director.

“Bronwyn Thornton has what it takes to make Hotline better than ever. His energy, business knowledge, education and position in the community make him the perfect fit, ”said Judy Burnette, Chair of the Board of Directors.

Thornton has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2018, and most recently served as Secretary. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Dare County Arts Council, the Missions of Mercy Dental Clinic Task Force, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Community Care Clinic. She is an active member of St. Andrews by the Sea and has served in the sacristy. She and her dog Piper form a team of therapy dogs with Pet Partners and participate in the Outer Banks Hospital Pet Therapy Program.

Thornton is a business owner and longtime resident of the Outer Banks. Originally from Fredericksburg and later a resident of Richmond, Virginia, she graduated from Madeira School and the University of Virginia. She was married to the late developer Buck Thornton.
