MPSC appoints new CEO

The Missouri Propane Safety Commission (MPSC) has appointed Derek Poe as Executive Director.

Poe managed budgets of over $2 million for Titan Propane and AmeriGas in his 15 years of managing operations.

He proposed and established the AmeriGas Area 28 Safety Committee and serves on the boards of the MPSC, Missouri Propane Gas Association (MPGA), and Missouri Propane Education & Research Council (MOPERC).

“We are thrilled to have Derek as the new leader to continue the progress of the Safety Commission since its inception more than a decade ago,” said MPSC Chairman Larry Borts. “Derek’s strong safety background at AmeriGas and Titan, combined with the relationships he has built working with Missouri propane retailers over many years on the boards of MPSC, MPGA and MOPERC, make him an excellent leader for the commission.”

Poe worked as a professional golf assistant before joining the propane industry in 2006. He was a service technician for a year at Titan Propane before becoming a district manager in 2007. The company was later acquired by AmeriGas, where Poe became area director in 2020.

“I look forward to my new role as head of the Missouri Propane Safety Commission,” says Poe. “Propane safety has been at the heart of my years in the propane industry. I look forward to this new role working with propane retailers across the state of Missouri. »
