IT major Infosys announced on Sunday that its board of directors has reappointed Salil S. Parekh as the company’s chief executive officer and chief executive officer (CEO and managing director) effective July 1, 2022 for a term of five years. until March 31, 2027, subject to shareholder approval.
Salil Parekh, has been the CEO and Managing Director of Infosys since January 2018 and has successfully led Infosys for the past 4 years.
Salil Parekh has over thirty years of global experience in the IT services industry with a strong track record in driving digital transformation for businesses, executing business turnarounds and managing successful acquisitions.
Previously, Salil Parekh was a member of the Management Board of Capgemini, where he held several management positions for 25 years. Salil was also a partner at Ernst & Young and is widely credited with bringing scale and value to the advisory firm’s Indian operations. He holds a Masters in Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Technology in Aeronautical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
Further in an exchange filing, Infosys said, “To ensure the continuity and commitment of the organization’s leadership to drive the growth journey over the next few years, the NRC has approved an award of 104,000 shares at 6 KMP and 375,760 other shares at 88 These Performance Share Units (“PSUs”) will be granted under the Infosys Expanded Share Ownership Plan 2019 and will vest over 3 years upon the achievement of certain stages, in accordance with the plan approved by the shareholders. The grant date of these PSUs will be June 1, 2022.
