Habitat for Humanity Maui has appointed Matthew Bachman as Executive Director effective January 1, 2023.
Bachman will replace Sherri K. Dodson who led the organization for nearly 20 years. Dodson will step down at the end of 2022 and has accepted a new role leading its homeownership education and counseling program.
Bachman joined Habitat for Humanity Maui in 2019 as Director of Family Services, managing the organization’s housing programs and helping residents become successful homeowners. Prior to Habitat for Humanity Maui, he worked as an advocate for foster youth in Florida.
“Our Board of Directors has conducted an extensive search for the next Executive Director and is confident that Matthew will successfully lead the organization,” said Joanne Stevenson, Chair of the Board of Habitat for Humanity Maui.
Bachman will immediately assume the position of Deputy Director of the organization as he transitions to his new role.
“I look forward to continuing the great legacy, already established by Habitat for Humanity Maui, to help create affordable housing opportunities for all of Maui County,” Bachman said.
Habitat for Humanity Maui has built and renovated over 200 homes in Maui County to help hundreds of people in the local community. Their housing programs provide underserved families with access to safe and stable housing.
