Governor Edwards announces board and commission appointments

Today, Governor John Bel Edwards announced his appointments to several Louisiana boards and commissions.

Louisiana State Council of Private Investigators Examiners

The Louisiana State Board of Private Investigator Examiners licenses private investigators and businesses in the state of Louisiana to contribute to the safety, health, and well-being of the people of Louisiana.

Maria V. Landry de Lacombe was appointed to the Louisiana State Board of Private Investigator Examiners. Landry is the Managing Director of Investigation Research Group LLC. She will represent the 1st District Civil Service Commission.

Louisiana Rehabilitation Board

The Louisiana Rehabilitation Council listens to the concerns of people with disabilities, reviews, analyzes and evaluates the state’s rehabilitation program, works with other agencies, organizations and consumer groups in the state.

Megan N. Thompson of Prairieville has been appointed to the Louisiana Rehabilitation Board. Thompson is a program manager for the Louisiana Department of Education. She will serve as the representative of the state education agency responsible for the public education of students with disabilities.

Commission for the restoration of petroleum sites

The Louisiana Oil Site Restoration Program was established in 1993 within the Department of Natural Resources to address the growing problem of orphan unrestored oilfield sites across the state. Orphan wells are abandoned oil and gas wells for which no viable responsible party can be located, or such party has failed to maintain the well site in accordance with state rules and regulations. The specific objective of the oilfield site restoration program is to properly plug and abandon orphan wells and restore sites to rough conditions prior to the well site suitable for redevelopment.

Lauren E. Chauvin of Lafayette has been appointed to the Oilfield Site Restoration Commission. Chauvin is the Director of the Judicial Program and a member of the lobbying team of the Louisiana Association of Business Industry. She will represent the Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association.

Elisabeth A. Creasman of Baton Rouge has been reappointed to the Oilfield Site Restoration Commission. Creasman is Deputy Director of Personnel at Nature Conservancy. It will represent the Conservation of Nature.

Lori E. LeBlanc of Thibodaux has been appointed to the Petroleum Site Restoration Commission. LeBlanc is vice-president of the Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association. She will represent the Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association.

David B. Levy of New Iberia has been appointed to the Oilfield Site Restoration Commission. Levy is the president of Petrotechnologies Inc. He will serve in general.

Steven R. Maley of Mandeville has been reappointed to the Oilfield Site Restoration Commission. Maley is the Director of Operations at Badger Oil Corporation. He will represent the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association (formerly LIOGA).

Barry R. Salsbury of Covington has been appointed to the Oilfield Site Restoration Commission. Salsbury is the CEO of Krewe Energy LLC. He will represent the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association.

State Council of Architectural Examiners

The Council is responsible for licensing and regulating the practice of architecture in the state of Louisiana.

John E. Cardone Jr. of Lake Charles has been reappointed to the State Board of Architectural Examiners. Cardone is the administrator of the city of Lake Charles. He will serve as a citizen of the United States who is not actively engaged or retired from the professions of architecture, engineering, interior design or landscape architecture, or the profession of entrepreneur , or the design or construction of buildings.

College of Stewards and Examiners of River Pilots (Calcasieu)

The Council of Commissioners and Examiners of River Port Pilots (Calcasieu) serves to establish rules and regulations for the purpose of regulating pilots, pilots associations, captains and ship owners on state navigable waters of Louisiana.

Walter Dwayne Chatoney of Lake Charles has been appointed to the Council of River Pilot Commissioners and Examiners (Calcasieu). Chatoney is an Intelligence Agent for Informa LTD. He will serve as a businessman.

John K. Kelly Grand Bayou Reservoir District

The mission of the John K. Kelly Grand Bayou Reservoir District is to provide raw water for the use of rural and municipal water supply systems in Red River Parish and adjacent areas and provide opportunities of aquatic recreation to the public.

Rebecca Hicks Craig of Ringgold has been appointed to the John K. Kelly Grand Bayou Reservoir District. Craig is the former assessor for the parish of Red River. It will be used in general.

Louisiana Chartered Professional Counselors Examination Council

The Licensed Professional Counselors Examination Board is responsible for the regulation of Provisional Licensed Professional Counselors or PLPC (formerly Trainee Counselors), Provisionally Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists or PLMFT (formerly MFT Trainees), Licensed Professional Counselors or LPCs, and licensed marriage and family counselors. Therapists or LMFT.

Foley L. Nash of Baton Rouge has been appointed to the Louisiana Certified Professional Counselors Review Board. Foley is the Director of Behavioral Health Clinical Services for Aetna Better Health of Louisiana. He will serve as a licensed marriage and family therapist.

Jimmy D. Long, Sr. Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts

The Jimmy D. Long, Sr. Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts will provide leadership in providing a world-class education to high performing and highly motivated students in Louisiana.

Dr. William B. Luster of Natchitoches has been appointed to the Jimmy D. Long, Sr. Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts. Dr Luster is Medical Director of Cane River Family Medicine APMC. It will be used in general.

Louisiana Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Advisory Council (LaSTEM)

Law 392 of the 2017 Legislative Session established the LaSTEM Advisory Board to oversee the creation and delivery of STEM programs in Louisiana.

Dr. Lindsey B. Keith-Vincent de Ruston has been appointed to the Louisiana Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Advisory Council (LaSTEM). Dr. Vincent is the Associate Dean for Research, Outreach and Innovation, and the Director of the Science and Technology Education Center at Louisiana Tech University. It will be used in general.

Atchafalaya basin lift district

The Atchafalaya Basin Dike District maintains some 320 miles of main dikes protecting all or part of eight parishes in south-central Louisiana.

Tommy A. Thibodeaux of St. Martinville has been appointed to the Atchafalaya Basin Levee District. Thibodeaux is in government and public relations for Pelican Waste and Debris. He will represent the parish of Saint-Martin.

Louisiana Military Advisory Council

The Military Advisory Council serves as a forum for questions regarding military installations and units located in Louisiana and military and retired service members and their families who reside in Louisiana.

John E. Manion III of Mandeville has been appointed to the Louisiana Military Advisory Board. Manion is the president of the Louisiana Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. He will chair the Louisiana Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.
