Fujitsu has hired Branko Panich as executive director general of the board for Australia and New Zealand.

Panich will lead the systems integrator’s expansion of its expertise and consulting capabilities as it pivots towards digital transformation, ICT strategy, sourcing strategy, CIO consulting, ICT operating model , cost optimization and change management services.

“Branko’s extensive consulting experience and deep expertise in driving digital transformation projects will be instrumental in our continued commitment to deliver value to our customers,” said Graeme Beardsell, Managing Director of Fujitsu ANZ.

“His appointment fuels our ambition to continue to grow the Fujitsu business as one of the region’s leading ICT providers, and I am delighted to welcome him on board. “

Panich was hired by accounting and professional services firm Grant Thornton, where he was a partner and responsible for digital transformation.

Previously, he held senior management positions at a number of companies including consultancy firm Bronx Technology Consulting, asset management software Hardcat, CSC (now DXC Technology), Deloitte Australia, Booz and Company, National Australia Bank, Westpac, BT Financial, Boston Consulting, GE Capital, SMS Management and Technology, Lendlease and Andersen Consulting (now Accenture).

Speaking about his appointment, Panich said, “I am delighted to join Fujitsu and look forward to building and deepening our relationships with new and existing customers.”

“One of the primary areas of focus as we expand Fujitsu’s existing consulting business is helping clients accelerate their digital transformation goals, a proven differentiator to drive market growth. “

Fujitsu hired a new cybersecurity manager earlier this year, former NTT cybersecurity director Mark Trumble, to replace Martin Holzworth. The division also needed to increase the capabilities of its cybersecurity team and its workforce throughout the year.

The company also made its first local acquisition since 2009 with Melbourne-based data analytics management consulting firm Versor. The company specializes in data engineering, advanced analysis and data science services.
