The Consultancy Growth Network, a peer community for consulting business owners, has launched the survey for the 2021 edition of its Consultancy BenchPress report.
Now in its second year, the study aims to find out how consulting firms and mid-sized consulting firms across the UK are adjusting to the effects of Covid-19, from where they expect what future growth will come from and what recruiting, resourcing and retention strategies they use to attract and retain consulting talent.
Last year’s survey revealed growth expectations for consulting firms, as well as average daily rates, salaries and utilization rates for each consultant grade, the most common sources of new business, Average sales conversion rates, how consultant owners spend their time (and want to spend it) and more.
âConsulting business owners who took part in last year’s survey made significant changes to their performance based on the benchmark information we shared in our first Consultancy BenchPress report,â said Marc Jantzen, founder of The Consultancy Growth Network. âBeing able to provide them with data that is really relevant to them right now is incredibly rewarding.
To participate: Executives of UK consultancies with 5-200 employees can respond to survey on this page.
The survey results will be anonymously compiled into a detailed and insightful report available to all survey-eligible respondents and revealed at a launch event in January.
This year, particular emphasis will be placed on the human strategy of consulting firms. Topics that will be explored include the current climate for talent retention and attraction, how rewards are expected to change in the post-pandemic era, and what resource models and hiring plans are being adopted.
Jantzen said, âOur focus on people this year is a direct response to the seismic shift in the consulting talent market during the pandemic. Staying ahead of the recruiting and retention curve has never been more critical. Data and insight into what other consulting firms are doing in this space will transform the future for many UK-based consulting firms.
The survey is led by The Consultancy Growth Network and conducted in collaboration with the accounting firm The Wow Company. Peter Czapp, Co-Founder of The Wow Company, said: “The report will showcase what top performing consulting firms are doing, providing owners and managers of consulting firms with inspiration to elevate their own game.”
