Batson Nolan names new law firm partners: Lauren Meadows, Jeff Goodson

Batson Nolan welcomed two attorneys as new partners at the Clarksville law firm: Lauren Meadows and Jeff Goodson.

“We are pleased to welcome Lauren and Jeff to the partnership,” said Mark Nolan. “This decision further reinforces Batson Nolan’s depth in litigation, estate planning and probate practices and further demonstrates Batson Nolan’s position as a premier law firm in Middle Tennessee.”

Jeff Goodson

Jeff T. Goodson received his law degree from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis and received his Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. From 1994 to 2001, Jeff worked at Lovell Communications Inc., a marketing communications company headquartered in Nashville.

Goodson then worked as an associate at the law firm of John Cobb Rochford, where he specialized in civil litigation, with particular emphasis on real estate matters, title insurance recovery claims and complex commercial disputes. In 2008, he formed the law firm of Jeff T. Goodson.

In 2012, Goodson joined the Clarksville City Attorney’s Office, and in 2013 he was promoted to Assistant City Attorney. Goodson helped make new law in the Tennessee Supreme Court in the case of Moreno v. City of Clarksville, which clarified the limits of sovereign immunity. He was president of the Tennessee Municipal Attorneys Association.

“Over the years, and prior to joining the firm, I had the pleasure of working with Batson Nolan on a number of projects and in doing so, I came to know and greatly admire the excellent reputation of the firm and its extremely talented members,” said Goodson. “Now being made a partner at Batson Nolan is not only an exciting opportunity, but it is without a doubt the highlight of my career to date.”

Lauren Meadows

Lauren S. Meadows is from Tennessean and grew up in Nashville. She attended the University of Tennessee, majoring in political science, and graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she served as a senior editorial staff member for UT Law School’s Business Transaction Journal.

Lauren is a graduate of the Class of 2021 from Leadership Clarksville.

“I joined Batson Nolan in 2017 because of the company’s outstanding reputation in central Tennessee and the opportunities it offered that are simply not available at many Nashville companies,” Meadows said. “My estate planning and probate practice has grown significantly over this time, positioning the firm as a leader in this area. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue my practice as an associate at Batson Nolan.
